Located just 2 miles from Cheltenham and 6 miles from Gloucester with an excellent bus service to both. Regency Cheltenham is renowned for its exclusive shopping; from charming boutiques to shopping centres with many leading retailers. Historic Gloucester has a wonderful Cathedral where Harry Potter was filmed, dockside, award winning Waterways Museum and its Quays outlet shopping centre. Directions  Take Junction 11 off the M5 motorway. Head on the A40 towards Cheltenham. Keep on the inside lane. After a few minutes you will arrive at a big roundabout with traffic lights. Take the first left exit (B4063 signposted Churchdown, Staverton). Stay on the B4063 road for 200 metres. Briarfields Hotel and Touring Park entrance is on the left hand side of the road. 11 - 14  February Venue THE CASTLE SCHOOL    NEW VENUE  Address Park Road, Thornbury BS35 1HT Hosts Carol, Mike, Pet & Tony Description  Valentines – Smart facilities next to Thornbury Castle and within a nice 15 minute walk into the town of Thornbury which has the usual shops,pubs and cafes. Bus service outside. Directions  From Bristol follow A38 towards Gloucester. At traffic lights after Alveston turn left, brown sign post Thornbury Castle onto B4061. Follow B4061 into Thornbury High Street. At the top of the High Street bear left into Castle Street. Follow Castle Street into Park Road. School is on the left in 700 yards. From the North leave M5 at J14 and follow signs for Thornbury onto the A38 southwards. After about 2 miles on dual carriageway turn right onto B4061 brown sign post Thornbury Castle. After entering Thornbury in 300 yards after the Anchor Inn, take next right into Whitfield Road then bear left into Park Road. School is in 500 yards on the right. 10 - 13 March Venue NORTHAM FARM Address Brean, Near Burnham-On-Sea, Somerset TA8 2SE Hosts Kay & Lynda Description Full facility site with children’s play areas and a fishing lake. Small shop on site. See site link below for full details. Buses from site entrance.  Directions  Leave the M5 at Junction 22. Follow signs to Burnham-on-Sea, Brean. Continue through Brean village and Northam Farm is on the right, half a mile past Brean Leisure Park. Cost  £TBA incl EHU  Start time 12 Noon  
  
24 – 29  March Venue WASHING POOL FARM              EASTER RALLY              NEW VENUE Address Main Road, Easter Compton, Bristol, BS35 5RE Hosts TBA Description Large open hard standing area for pitching. Farm Shop with cafe serving teas, coffee, cooked breakfast and much more. Heated function room at our disposal throughout. Own drinks except for one evening with professional entertainment. Bus stop outside for shopping at Cribbs Causeway or into Bristol and beyond. Meals available and can be arranged on demand, including Sunday roast.  Car Boot Sale Easter Saturday and Monday. Directions  Exit the M5 at Junction 17 (the Cribbs Causeway junction). Take the B4055 sign posted Severn Beach. After about a mile you will reach Easter Compton. Pass through the village and watch for the wide Easter Compton Farm Shop entrance on the right. Turn in here and follow MCC signs. Cost  £12.00 pupn incl entertainment  Start time 2.00 p.m.   


7 – 10 April Venue THE CASTLEBROOK INN Address Compton Dundon, Somerset,  TA11 6PR Hosts TBA Description A 16th century pub with a shop, restaurant and a skittle alley. Sunday Carvery. The rally field is behind the pub with striking Somerset views. There are 17 registered walks around and about the village. Within easy reach of Street and Glastonbury. Directions  On the B3151 between Street and Somerton. In Compton Dundon watch for the Castlebrook Inn and MCC signs. It is on the left if approaching from Street. The access to the rally field is up the side of the pub and is very narrow. Larger units approaching from Street will need to cross to the other carriageway in order to swing in. The rally field is through the car park. Cost  £5.00 pupn  Start time 2.00 p.m.   


21 - 24 April Venue TUDOR CARAVAN PARK Address Shepherds Patch, Slimbridge, Glos, GL2 7BP Hosts Trevor Scantlebury with help Description A large rally field at the rear of the Tudor Arms noted for good food and real ale. The site is adjacent to the Gloucester to Sharpness canal and the Slimbridge Wildlife Trust is just across the canal. Directions  From the M5 Junction 13 or 14 follow the signs to the 'WWT Wetlands Centre, Slimbridge'. Turn off the A38 at Slimbridge roundabout, go through main village. After 1.5 miles, 30 yards before canal bridge, turn left into Tudor Arms Pub car park and follow MCC signs to rally field. Cost £10.00 pupn  Start Time  2.00 p.m.    
  
28 Apr - 08 May  Venue MANOR FARM HOLIDAY CENTRE   MAY BANK HOLIDAY, HOLIDAY RALLY Address Charmouth, Bridport, Dorset DT6 6QL Hosts Carol & Mike, Pet & TONY Description  A full facility site with views of the surrounding countryside. Facilities include a childrens' play area, club house, swimming pool, health club and coffee house. The beach at Charmouth is 15 minutes walk (0.6 miles) from the holiday park and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the Jurassic Coast which is famous for its beauty and for interesting fossils which anyone can find and pick up off the beach. The beach is sand/shingle and is safe for boating and swimming. Bus outside the site for Lyme Regis, Bridport and beyond. Directions  On the A35 between Bridport and Honiton. From Bridport, after Chideock and Morcombelake, watch for slip road to Charmouth. After leaving A35 the site is in one mile on the right and is well marked with distinctive yellow signs. Cost £14.00 pupn for 2 persons. EHU available at extra charge (£3.00). Start Time  11.00 am  

 
20-22 May  Venue STEAM & VINTAGE RALLY,  CASTLE COMBE RACE TRACK  Address Castle Combe, SN14 7EY Hosts Pat & Pete, Meg & Bill Description  Free entry into the Steam and Vintage Show. A huge selection of stalls for you to wander around. Parking is on grass around the race track. There is free (optional donation to charity) transport along the race track to ferry ralliers and others to the show itself but it is easily reached on foot by most. Directions  From A420 about 2.5 miles west of Chippenham, look for brown signs for Castle Combe Racetrack. After Yatton Keynell on B4039, follow white and blue MCC signs Cost  £25 for the weekend  Start Time  Strictly not before 2.00pm   Note:This is the time allocated to us by the Fair organisers.   
26-31 May Venue MCC NATIONAL RALLY AND AGM   Address Hickstead All England Jumping Course, Hickstead, West Sussex, RH17 5NU Hosts Marshalls for the Avon Group area TBA Description  Ask a Committee member for details. This is an opportunity to meet up with friends (and make new ones). If you are not sure what goes on at this National Rally, please ask and we will be happy to explain. Also you can find further details in the Members Area of the MCC Web Site. Directions From the north travel south on the A23. Pass the Burgess Hill/Hickstead Village turn off. Take the next exit sign posted the B2118 and bear right over the fly-over. Take the third exit off the roundabout. The entrance to the showground is about 100 metres on the left. From the south leave the A23 at the junction marked B2117 to Hurstpierpoint. At the top of the slip road turn left. After 200 metres turn right on the B2118. Follow the B2118 for about 2.5 miles. 9-12 June Venue DYRHAM PARK Address Dyrham, Near Bath  SN14 8ER Hosts Paul & Val Description  Returning after several years to rally in the grounds of historic Dyrham Park. Free admission to National Trust Deer Park, Formal Gardens and the shop and tearooms.  Tickets for the Mansion can be obtained from Visitor Reception. (free for NT Members).  Lovely countryside and views. Directions Dyrham Park is 8 miles North of Bath and 12 miles East of Bristol. Access is from the A46 Bath to Stroud road, 2 miles South of the Tormarton interchange at Junction 18 of the M4. Follow MCC signs. Cost £11.50 pupn  Start Time 2.00 p.m   
22 - 26 June Venue PETRUTH PADDOCKS                          Address Labourham Drove, Cheddar, Somerset  SATNAV not advised Hosts Committee Description  Avon’s famous Strawberry Rally. Full use of site toilets and showers available. It is just a short stroll to Cheddar High Street and a little further to the Gorge itself. Shops, cafes, pubs and of course the caves to visit. STRAWBERRIES and CREAM on Saturday afternoon. In-house entertainment Saturday evening. Car Boot in next field Sunday morning. Directions  From A38 take the A371 to Cheddar. In Cheddar stay on A371. After passing the Football Club on the right, take the first right into Labourham Road. In 50 yds fork left into Labourham Drove. Site on left. Cost £11.00 pupn + cost of Strawberries and Cream   Start Time  11.00am

  
30 June – 3 July Venue CHIPPING SODBURY RFC        NEW VENUE Address Wickwar Road, Chipping Sodbury, BRISTOL BS37 6GA Hosts Mike Stock Description An easy 5 minute walk to this charming Cotswold town with plentiful shops, pubs and cafes.  Bus stop nearby to Bristol and beyond. Directions  From Chipping Sodbury High Street take the B4060 Wickwar Road northwards. After second roundabout the site is on the right. Cost  £8.00 pupn  Start time 2.00 p.m.   


21 - 24 July Venue CASTLE CARY RFC                                    NEW VENUE Address Brookhouse Field, Castle Cary BA7 7PF  Hosts TBA Description  This new venue is a large site with full use of the club house. Own drinks. Limited use of showers and toilets. Pub just outside. Easy walking distance to train station and a little further into town for shops, pubs etc. Bus stop outside for Shepton Mallet or Castle Cary. Directions Travelling south on the A37, leaving Shepton Mallet after the Highwayman pub and the Hand Car Wash, at the next roundabout take first exit A371 sign post Castle Cary. In about five miles watch for MCC signs and turn right immediately after the Brook House Inn. Sign posts Alhampton and Castle Cary RFC. Site is on the right in 600 feet. Cost £10.00 pupn  Start Time  2.00 p.m.    


 5 - 10 August Venue  GATCOMBE FARM Address Weston Road, Flax Bourton, Bristol, BS48 3QT Hosts Pat & Pete, Meg & Bill Description Pre Balloon. Working farm. Restaurant/tea room and farm shop on site. Good quality food available at reasonable prices. Bus stop at site entrance for Weston Super Mare, Bristol, Nailsea or Clevedon. A cream tea is planned and possibly a pig roast or barbeque.  
We are staying at Gatcombe Farm until Wednesday to enable those that are attending the Balloon Fiesta Rally to then make the 10 minute journey to the site. Directions At the South end of the Long Ashton bypass at Flax Bourton (A370), take the B3130 towards Nailsea. In 300 yards turn right at mini roundabout. Site on left in 400 yards. Cost £9.00 pupn + cost of cream tea etc Start Time  11.00am   


10 - 15 August Venue BRISTOL BALLOON FIESTA Address Parsonage Farm, Church Lane, Long Ashton, Bristol BS41 9LU Hosts Committee Description  The Balloon Fiesta is immediately across the road from the rally field. Entrance to the festival is completely free. Weather permitting there will be two night-glows followed by firework displays, (Thursday and Saturday evenings), mass balloon ascents (early morning and early evening), free samples, side stalls, helicopter rides, a fun fair and much more. Directions  From Bristol at Long Ashton by-pass, take B3128 for Clevedon. Passing the Park and Ride and traffic lights, turn left towards Long Ashton. Pass the Angel P.H (on the left), and immediately turn left into Church Lane, turn left again past church into site.  Cost £9.00 pupn. Own sanitary facilities essential Start Time   11.00 am    THIS IS OUR LARGEST RALLY PLEASE NOTE THESE SPECIAL POINTS  *  There is plenty of room.  Bookings not taken, nor necessary. *  Do not arrive early.  Rally start time is 11.00am. *  You cannot save spaces at this rally, to PARK TOGETHER please ARRIVE TOGETHER *  Drinking water and toilet emptying on site.  No toilet/shower block. *  It is generally possible to stay longer on site privately, ask at Reception.  

 
18-21 August Venue THE PADDOCKS                                           NEW VENUE Address Marsh Lane,  Rowde, nr Devizes  SN10 1RF Hosts tba Description  This new venue is on a large, level field adjacent to a non-working farm. A short stroll through the garden to the famous Caen Hill rise of locks on the Kennet and Avon Canal from where you can walk or cycle to Devizes or in the opposite direction towards Seend, Semington and beyond. Buses from approx 100 yards away on the A361. Cafes and pubs in nearby Rowde, Lock Head and Devizes. Directions From Devizes take A361 towards Trowbridge. At Caen Hill 2 miles from Devizes, where road becomes dual carriageway, immediately move into the right hand lane and then turn right onto B3101 (Marsh Lane) signposted Rowde. Cross narrow canal bridge and follow rally signs to field on right hand side. Cost £10.00 pupn   Start Time  2.00 p.m

26 August – 2 September Venue RAINBOW WOOD FARM                                                     NEW VENUE Address Claverton Down, Bath   BA2 7AR Hosts tba Description August Bank Holiday This is a new venue in a large field where farm produce can be purchased.  This is a good walking area or there is a good bus service outside to Bath and beyond.  The Bath ‘open-top’ buses stop outside too.  You can combine this with the pre-Shepton Rally at Ashcombe Farm, Glastonbury Directions On reaching Bath follow the signs to the Bath University and the American Museum. At the top of Bathwick Hill the road bears to the left and the farm is on the right approximately five hundred yards further on (after the university entrance). Cost £9.00 pupn - Own san essential. 02-08 September Venue ASHCOMBE FARM   SATNAV not advised Address Steanbow, West Pennard, Glastonbury, Somerset  Hosts Pat & Pete, Meg & Bill Description  Pre Shepton Show.  Chill out before the 15 minute drive to the Shepton Mallet Motorhome Show. The rally is for the weekend but you can stay on until the show opens. There will be music to be heard from the annual Pilton Party at the Glastonbury Festival site on the Friday evening but they finish around 11/11.30pm. A small room is available for get-togethers with background music. Directions  Use of SATNAV to find this site is not recommended as it may divert you down a narrow lane. Look for MCC signs. The site entrance is on the main road, 2 miles south west of Pilton on A361 and 4 miles from Glastonbury. It's East of West Pennard and almost opposite the Apple Tree public house.  Cost £8.00 pupn  Start Time  11.00am

22 - 25 September Venue FROME CRICKET CLUB Address The Showfield, Rodden Road, Frome, BA11 2AH  Hosts Mark, Penny, Kevin & Yvonne Description  FROME CARNIVAL  Situated at top of the hill that leads down to Frome Town Centre. There is a market on Saturday. Parking is hard standing and grass, pub next door, shop across the road, Chinese take away nearby. Use of clubhouse with drinks at club prices. We are not being charged for the room so please use bar. During the weekend Frome Carnival passes close by. Directions  On the A36 from Bath take A361 then the B3090 to Frome on the Bath road into Rodden Road, Cricket Club is on the left. Cost £6.00 pupn  This includes temporary membership to club (all drinks at club prices). Start Time  11.00am   
  
28 Sept – 02 Oct Venue ST CROSS SYMONDIANS CRICKET CLUB                   NEW VENUE Address Winchester   S023 9RJ Hosts Pet and Tony, Carol & Mike Description  Four nights to enjoy somewhere different.  Bus stop outside to the lovely city of Winchester or further to Southampton.  Alternatively enjoy the 1 mile riverside walk to Winchester.  A programme of activities will hopefully include a guided tour of the Cathedral.  Pub and chippy 10 mins walk away.  The clubhouse is available for the duration but you can still bring your own drinks. Directions  On M3 southbound at Winchester exit at J11. From the slip road turn right signed Winchester. Take left lane under the motorway and turn left. In about 0.5 mile at roundabout take 3rd exit signed St Cross, Winchester. In about 200 yards at next roundabout take 3rd exit St Cross Road signed St Cross, Winchester. The Cricket Club is on the right in about 0.5 mile. Follow MCC signs. Cost £9.00 pupn   Start Time  11.00am

  
13 -16 October Venue SHARPNESS DOCK WORKERS CLUB Address The Docks, Sharpness, Berkeley, GL13 9UN Hosts Jane & Pat Description A lovely walk along the banks of the Sharpness Canal and Marina are within minutes of the site. The club house is at our disposal over the weekend. Toilets are only available during club hours. Competition for the Avon Skittles Shield. Limited bookings available at the club house for Sunday lunch. Directions  From M5 Junction 13 or 14 go West to A38. From Junction 13 turn South or from Junction 14 turn North. Follow A38 and turn West onto A4066 to Berkeley. Before Berkeley at roundabout take 2nd exit sp Sharpness Docks. Docks in 3 miles. Cost  £8.00 Per Unit for the weekend  Start time 2.00 p.m.

  
27-30 Oct Venue CHEW VALLEY SCHOOL Address Chew Lane, Chew Magna, Bristol, BS40 8QB Hosts Committee Description The 38th Annual General Meeting of the Avon Group Motor Caravanners' Club will take place at 11.00 am on Saturday 29 October 2016, preceded at 10.30 am by an Open Forum. The Members’ Meeting will follow the AGM. Current membership cards must be produced. Within walking distance of the village of Chew Magna with pub and shops, in the opposite direction is Chew Valley Lake with the Woodford Lodge Restaurant on one side (open Wed to Sat). On the other side a tea shop. Also two nature trails through meadows, reed beds and along the shoreline. The weekend will include professional entertainment.  Directions On the A37 from Bristol turn right onto B3130 to Chew Magna. Pass through the village, turning left into Chew Lane B3114. The school is on the left. Alternatively from the A38 turn onto the B3130 to Winford. Carry on towards Chew Magna. Turn right into Chew Lane B3114 before Chew Magna. The school is on the left. 29 December 2016 - 02 January 2017 Venue WHITSTONE SCHOOL Address Charlton Road, Shepton Mallet, Somerset, BA4 5PF Hosts Committee Description  Our New Years Eve Rally. Watch for details and prices as plans develop, but they will include Fancy Dress, food, games and competitions. Professional entertainment on 30th. Directions  On the A37 from Bristol, in Shepton Mallet turn right at the traffic lights.
